For generations we have called New Mexico home. Our family has spent many meals at the kitchen table enjoying the comida (meals) prepared by my grandmother’s loving hands filled with cariño (affection). These times together brought a sense of warmth and comfort to our hearts and satisfied not only our grumbling bellies but our souls as well. Our grandmother, who we affectionately called Grandma B, would share her lessons learned from her grandmothers about family, love, and kindness. She always had just the right remedio (remedy) to give us when we were sick or just the right prayer and words of encouragement to share with us when we needed it. Grandma B was the heart and soul of the family.
